We don't feed grain during the finishing period. Butcher animals are out on pasture, like the rest of the herd, before we butcher. 

Our beef is leaner than beef that's been on a heavy grain ration prior to slaughter. However, it is still tender and marbled. Grain-finished beef tends to have a milder taste, while grass-finished has a stronger beef taste.  We only butcher young animals for steaks, so you can rest assured they'll be of great quality.

We do not use hormones/steroids on our animals. Nor do we feed medicated feed or use antibiotics unless an animal is sick and requires treatment. It's rare that an animal requires antibiotics, but if we do treat one, we make a note and pull it from the retail beef program.

All our cattle are vaccinated, as there are too many disease risks.

I do have halves for sale at times. Pricing is based on the hanging weight. Please note you'll need to make a deposit before I will reserve a half for you, and you'll need to pay in full before you pick up or receive your half. 

Sorry, I do not sell by the quarter. It is too difficult to coordinate cutting instructions between different customers for a quarter. Plus, it's hard to figure out who should get which cuts (the front and hind are very different, and people generally want the same cuts, which are limited).

However, I can put together custom beef packages for you, with volume discounts. Or you can peruse our standard beef packages online. 

The business name comes from the year my family started ranching at Walsh, NWT (later Alberta). Read a short history here. 

I offer pick-up in Livelong, and I'm willing to deliver to the communities in this area for orders of $100 or more.

I also have delivery dates in Lloydminster, and may expand to other communities if there is demand.
